Dear Residents,
We’re pleased to share a positive step forward in the recovery of Maghull Town Hall – the scaffolding and temporary rooftop are on track to be completed this week, marking an important step forward in the recovery process. This important milestone means we can now move into the next phase of works.
With the structure now secure, we’re scheduling the second stage of cleaning and restoration inside the building. We’re also in ongoing discussions with our contractors and Scottish Power to begin restoring electricity to parts of the Town Hall and grounds maintenance garage.
The forensic team investigating the cause of the fire will be returning in the coming weeks to complete their work, now that full roof access is available. We understand many residents are keen to know more, and we’ll be sure to share the outcome as soon as the investigation concludes.
In other good news, the tennis courts will reopen on Wednesday 7th May, with the back bowling green reopening on Monday 12th May.
However, the car park will remain closed until further notice due to ongoing construction and health and safety considerations. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.
As we complete the initial recovery phase, our focus now shifts to planning the rebuilding and refurbishment of the Town Hall. We’re currently working closely with architects who will soon present options for both internal and external improvements. We’ll share more on these plans in a future update.
Thank you again for your support throughout this process.
